Are some of these statements true for
you?
“I feel peak performance is
right out of my reach. How do I get out of the day to day minutia?” I find myself always
trapped in the crisis du jour, pulling me away from important actions that will
achieve the highest return for my effort. As a result, our profitability
this year is suffering big time. What do I do?”
“I can’t tell you how many
times I have discussed the company’s vision, goals and mission in staff
meetings, asking everyone to work toward these. Yet no one seems to get it. What
am I doing wrong?” You think you’re an effective communicator, yet
your message just doesn’t stick. How can I articulate our story clearly so that
everyone is on the same page and understands what they need to do?
“My staff lack trust and are afraid to put reality center
stage for fear of retribution.” How do I get my organization to
eliminate their fears, be honest and engage in passionate discussions or debates
in staff meetings that will ultimately boost the bottom line? They are very
guarded with their comments. They say, ‘I’ll look foolish, the meeting will drag
on and on if I speak up.’
"Our staff has a silo
mentality, and as a result, everyone is rowing in different directions which is
counterproductive to achieving our goals and boosting the bottom line. How do I
get my staff aligned as a unified team for the benefit of the company?”
You recognize that alignment is critical to your organization’s success. But you
don’t know how to change the status quo and get everyone rowing in the same
direction. You realize that you’re in desperate need of help to pull the tide
around.
“There is a large gap between
where I am and where I want to be. How do I get there?” You may have
a plan, but currently it is an expensive trinket, collecting dust on your
office shelf. Expectations are unclear. You know what to do, but fall
short in the execution. You admit that help is of utmost importance.
“I am worried that I will not
achieve my goals this year. I’m afraid that profits will decline and the
business will fail.” I feel paralysis by analysis and waste too much
time on why everything is wrong rather than creating the best solutions that
will take our company to the top. What do I do and where do I start?
“I find myself in a rut almost
every day focusing more time on phone calls, emails and resolving personnel
issues.” How do I learn to focus and redirect my attention to
building high performance teams and the important financial and business goals
that will achieve my vision and boost the bottom line?
“My staff puts their egos and
individual needs first rather than the goals of the department or organization.
As a result, individuals miss deadlines and expected targets for their
department.” What do I do to get them to see themselves and how they
are contributing to the slow progress of our company?
“The funny thing is I have
talented, goal-driven managers and staff. Yet they don’t want to commit to a
clear plan of action or to the collective needs of the department. They never
want to take responsibility for their actions.” You don’t understand
why your staff won’t be accountable for what they do. You hand-picked each hired
individual and yet you are disappointed by their attitude and lack of interest
in taking your company to the next level.
“When managers come to my
office, they want to focus on personalities and who is doing what wrong. There
is so much conflict in our teams, it’s no wonder they/we are not making headway.
What do I do to turn this around?” You want your employees to openly
debate ideas and concepts because that is healthiest, most productive way to
reach the best solutions. Instead they focus on non-productive things and
frankly waste company time. It’s no wonder sales are sluggish this year.
